oldtvAmazing isn’t it? Just 1 year ago you wouldn’t hear Blog, Facebook or Twitter words on TV even if you really looked. Now it’s all over the place! Larry King has both; Dr. Phil keeps asking people to check his Twitter account (not that I watch Dr. Phil); Oprah has a Twitter account; I remember just a couple of months ago CNN had a battle with Ashton Kutcher on who gets the most Twitter followers within a certain time-frame. Ashton of course won, with a little over 4,000,000 followers under his belt.

Artful Blogging and the biggest mistakes bloggers make

Artful Blogging is possibly one of the first, and only magazines that is purely about blogs and for bloggers. As the name may suggest the magazine showcases arts and crafts-type blogs. It is found in all major book stores like Barnes and Noble, and it’s published quarterly. The magazine is somewhat pricey at $15, but it’s full of blog reviews, in fact all 140 pages of it, there are also some tips on how to start your own blog, as well as blogging etiquette – what you should, and shouldn’t do in the blogosphere.

Movable Type or WordPress?

Every other person I talk to asks the million dollar question — which blog platform do you recommend, WordPress or Movable Type? First of all it’s nearly impossible to describe and list the features of both applications in a single blog post. There are many books published on Movable Type and WordPress, and in the end it all comes down to personal preference, specific needs, the server you are on, and even budget. Before I go ahead and recommend one or the other let me briefly introduce you to both of them, and tell you what I think.

Updating all Social Networks with a single service

Social Networks are In. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace, Delicious, Flickr. Chances are you have an account with most of them. The problem I’m seeing with many business owners is lack of time updating their statuses on all the social networks they are a part of. Imagine logging-in into one network at a time and updating it with the same message over and over again. This can take so much of your time! Not to mention you’ll need to be on a computer to do that as many social networks are not as mobile-friendly. Due to this problem you either give up posting your updates, or stick with one or two networks and completely abandon the others. I know because it happened to me.

Flying to San Francisco for Adobe Meeting

I will be in San Francisco on July 20th, meeting some folks from Adobe to discuss blog hosting and custom blog services by Blog Consulting. This will be my first time in San Francisco. I hope someone can recommend interesting places I should see while I’m there.

Next day I’m flying to Los Angeles to check on our new data center, and to make sure things are running smooth.
