WordPress and WordPress MU have merged
The WordPress team is working hard on the new WordPress 3.0. It is currently in Beta 1 and can be downloaded by clicking here. This is an early beta, this means there are a few things they’re still finishing. There’s a ton of stuff going on in 3.0, for example:
The merge! WordPress and WordPress MU have merged. This does not mean that you can suddenly start adding a bunch of new blogs from within your regular WordPress Dashboard. If you’re interested in testing the Super Admin stuff associated with multiple sites, you’ll need some simple directions to get started.
The new default theme, Twenty Ten, including the custom background and header options.
Custom Post Type functionality has been beefed up.
Bulk Plugin and Theme Upgrades.
Shortlinks API.
If you are planning to upgrade as soon as it comes out then be sure to make a backup first, just in case things don’t go the way you anticipated. For popular or business blogs it’s recommended to first make a development environment and test it there before upgrading your live blogs!

Resources for WordPress Themes
One of the selling points for individual bloggers to go with WordPress over any other blog platform is WordPress’s community. The community that contributes to WordPress in many different ways: some help out in forums, others write plugins, and many design themes (also called blog designs). In this post I will talk about WordPress themes. The most obvious and popular place to go is WordPress site itself, where you can find a little over 1,100 themes. All of the themes listed on WordPress site are free, and come with a screen shot and a live preview.

WordPress for BlackBerry
WordPress just announced a release of a BlackBerry application that allows you to manage all of your WordPress blogs from any BlackBerry phone.
I’m writing this post on my BlackBerry Tour. The application is really easy to use, it is packed with features and looks great!
I highly recommend this to any WordPress user that has a BlackBerry phone (iPhone version is also available). It is becoming more clear that WordPress is years ahead of its competition.
You can download this application from BlackBerry World App site by searching for the keyword: wordpress.
Happy Mobile Blogging!
