My Eee goes with me everywhere I go

I’m even writing this post on my Asus Eee! Up until a couple of months ago I never thought of Netbooks as something useful, especially to a person like me that works with Photoshop, Audio and Video, and as you can imagine quite a bit of blog coding. You see, I have my BlackBerry Tour that allows me to send and receive email wherever I am, as well as connect with Instant Messaging and simple Web Browsing. So I always questioned, why get a Netbook? Wouldn’t my BlackBerry suffice? How, and where would I use it, especially since I switched to Apple last year and got myself a MacBook as my main office computer after being fed up with all the viruses and spyware that I get with Windows.

So a couple of months ago I was sitting at the local Barnes and Noble on a huge and heavy (it feels like that after using my Eee) Acer Laptop, Twitting and connecting with my Facebook friends. Then I saw an ad for a Netbook and decided to go ahead and see what all the fuss is about. After checking BestBuy.com reviews I found that Asus Eee is one of the most popular Netbooks available. And now I see why! With a very comfortable and easy to type keyboard, 160 GB hard drive, 1 GB of RAM (upgradable to 2 GB), built-in Webcam, Microphone, Wireless, and battery that lasts up to 5 hours (upgradable to 10 hours), and just as importantly (to me anyway) the looks, it is one of the best Netbooks I’ve ever seen, and used.

Now my Eee goes with me everywhere I go. It fits in my car’s glove compartment box. The battery holds its charge as advertised. Its 160 GB drive easily fits all my applications, music, work files and more. I can jump on it when there’s an emergency with someone’s blog. Skype and Webcam — a joy to use on this little machine. Running Photoshop and other CPU intensive applications? Bring it on! Can’t wait to take it on my next trip on a plane watching a movie or two. A truly great companion, and all for just $299 with Windows included. Great job Asus for making this amazing Netbook.

I totally agree! I have the same netbook that you have and I love it. It really takes the abuse of traveling as well. ASUS came into the market as a motherboard manufacturer and I would’ve never guessed they would have the greatest netbook out there 🙂
